"Honor your family, for they are the wings with which you fly and the hands with which you fight; they are the home that you will always return to."
- Ali ibn Abi Talib
I am blessed with wonderful parents that inculcated in me integrity and fear of God, three unconditionally loving siblings that I have always taken too much for granted, a loyal wife that shows me how to love, care, be grateful, and how to persevere, and I have three beautiful children that keep me on my toes by continuously questioning everything I say and do!
I live in Mississauga, ON. Canada with my wife of 22 years, my daughter and twin sons, and our three beautiful cats!
Investopedia defines an entrepreneur as:
"An individual who takes the risk to start their own business based on an idea they have or a product they have created while assuming most of the risks and reaping most of the rewards of the business."
However, my twenty years of entrepreneurship have taught me that there is much more to it than that! It is a life of extreme stress rewarded by moments of ecstasy and "hoorays", many failures interspersed with success. It is one of life's most humbling yet rewarding experiences, as one realizes how little one controls in this journey, and how much one depends on people and events for success! Most of all, it is a journey of learning, reflection and self-improvement.
The two successes I am most proud of are www.dicotechqar.com and www.eqraz.com
Beyond the typical responsibilities and goals I have as a family man and a working man, my true purpose in life is to learn, reflect, enhance self-awareness and God-consciousness, and become the best version of myself.
The Quran states [55:60]:"Is the reward for goodness anything but goodness?" I wish to devote my life to learning what "goodness" is. Is it honesty with oneself and others? Is it love, kindness and compassion? Is it being a good citizen in one's community and one's nation? Is it the realization of one's smallness, leading to humility? Is it acting based on what's right, without worrying about consequences? Is it devotion to God and all of God's creation? Is it the practice of "gratitude in prosperity and patience in adversity"? Or is it all of this and more?
The Quran further instructs [4:78]: "Say, all things are from Allah". My ultimate desire and hope is to live by a strong moral, ethical and spiritual code which requires all actions to be carried out in the best interests of my fellow human beings, and leave the reward to be granted me by Allah s.w.t.
